Deputy Attorney General Orlando Generoso Rubene (O País)
Deputy Attorney General Orlando Generoso Rubene died of an illness in Portugal on Thursday, February 22.
Orlando Rubene was also a member of the Superior Council of the Magistracy of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and a spokesperson for the General Attorney’s Office of the Republic.
From 1998 to 2001, he was Provincial Prosecutor-in-Chief of the Provincial Attorney of the Republic – Maputo, and from 2001 to 2003, Secretary-General of the General Attorney’s Office. From 2003 to 2007, he was Provincial Prosecutor of the Republic-Chief of Sofala, and from 2007 to 2011 he was Provincial Prosecutor of the Republic-Chief of Gaza.
In 2011, he was promoted to Assistant Deputy Attorney General and in 2014, he served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Section Chief, with the Labor Section of the Supreme Court of Appeal of Maputo. In 2015 he was Assistant Attorney General, and was assigned to the 3rd Accounts Section of the Administrative Court, where he served on behalf of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and from 2009 to 2016 he was Secretary-General and Vice-President of the Association of African Prosecutors.
Rubene’s interment will take place at 13:30 p.m. on Friday in Lhanguene cemetery, preceded by a funeral ceremony in Maputo City Hall at 09:00 a.m.
