Mozambique: Public deficit expected to fall to €1.755B in 2025 – government
The Mozambican currency lost more than a few cents to the Euro last week, devaluing almost five meticais in the last six weeks, according to central bank benchmark exchange rates, followed by Lusa.
Over the course of the last week, the Euro was bought in Mozambique for an average of 74.73 meticais, 32 metical cents more than the previous week.
The sale was made at 76.22 meticais for each Euro, 33 metical cents more.
The daily average purchase price of the Euro varied between 73.98 and 75.53 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 75.45 and 77.05 meticais.
Conversely, the Mozambican currency stabilised against the US dollar, after losing around two meticais in the previous three weeks.
The US dollar is the base currency for reference currencies for other currencies in Mozambique.
The daily average purchase price of the US dollar ranged between 60.29 and 60.37 meticais, while the sale price ranged between 61.50 and 61.57 meticais.
