The body of a 42-year-old woman was found on the Chiveve canal in the city of Beira on Sunday, and removed by National Public Safety Service (SENSAP) personnel to Beira Central Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, in Maputo, a man was saved from drowning off the Costa do Sol beach.
According to SENSAP, the individual went into sea while drunk and only the timely intervention of a firemen saved his life. He was taken to Maputo Central Hospital’s emergency rooms, where he received medical care.
In Manica province, a considerable part of a residence was consumed by a fire caused by arson in Chimoio city’s Popular neighbourhood. The fire was extinguished by residents and neighbours.
During last week, SENSAP inspected 14 different institutions and establishments, and found, unsatisfactory fire safety conditions in some of them. The institutions in question were recommended to train officials in fire prevention and control, and to address other risks.
