New Ombudsman to be chosen today

Minister of Justice Isac Chande and Assembly of the Republic deputy Silvério Ronguane are candidates in a parliamentary vote to decide who will replace José Abudo as ombudsman today.
The Ombudsman functions to guarantee the rights of citizens and defend legality and justice in the conduct of public administration. If elected, Isac Chande will have to leave his ministerial post, and Silvério Ronguane will similarly resign as deputy.
