Frelimo president Filipe Nyusi arrived in Vilankulo municipal village at the end of yesterday afternoon, and will leave from here for Inhassoro.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Frelimo spokesman Caifadine Manasse said that the Frelimo president would there head a training seminar for first district secretaries on the nature, objectives, principles and working methods of the party.
Manasse noted that the XI Party Congress had reaffirmed the importance of ongoing training for cadres and officials as a fundamental strategy for political, patriotic and socio- cultural development, and in order to keep the party in the vanguard of the development process in the face of far-reaching internal and external developments.

The seminar will train the first district secretaries, share experience and harmonise working methods to make the party’s governing bodies more dynamic, active and engaging. It also aims to strengthen their role in leading the political processes in the districts, with a view to Frelimo victory in the 2018 and 2019 elections, and to increase its efficacy in boosting production and productivity as well as promoting good management of resources for the sustainability of the party.
It is also hoped to strengthen the role of party bodies and their social organisations in preventing and combating rumours, disinformation, crime and other ills that negatively affect the lives of Mozambicans and the country’s development.
“At this meeting, our cadres will receive first-hand the holistic, eclectic and integrated vision of Comrade President Jacinto Nyusi on the steps we are taking in the country’s development process,” Manasse said.
He added that Nyusi, using the full force of his didacticism and pragmatism, Filipe would give the cadres guidelines on how to “boil at the same temperature”. The Frelimo president would focus on the role of cadres and militants in maintaining the leadership role of the party in the dialogue about the various sensitivities of society.
Manasse called on the Mozambican people to continue struggling to find viable solutions for development and for their country, calling on it to redouble its vigilance and cultivate a spirit of denunciation against all those who would jeopardise security, tranquillity and public order.
He urged party organs and members to continue working hard to ensure the victory of Frelimo candidate Amisse Cololo António in the by-election scheduled for 24 January 2018 in the Municipality of Nampula.
