Mozambique: "We need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels" - Minister of the Economy
The Mozambican currency depreciated against the Euro for the third consecutive week, losing around one metical and a half in the same period, according to data from the Bank of Mozambique.
On average, last week the euro was bought in the country at 71.40 meticals, down 39 cents of the metical against the average of the previous week, according to the central bank’s average reference exchange rates.
In turn, the sale was made at 72.77 meticals per euro, a transaction 40 cents of the metical more expensive .
Last week, the average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 71.11 and 71.74 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 72.46 and 73.13 meticais.
The Mozambican currency appreciated slightly against the US dollar with buying averages at 60.09 and selling at 61.24 meticais.
