Pastor Evan Mawarire has been acquitted of all counts against the government at Harare High Court.
Mawarire shot to prominence last year when he posted a protest video of himself draped in the Zimbabwe flag.
In the video, he voiced his frustrations and the economic hardships in Zimbabwe and the hopelessness that its people felt.
In July he was instrumental in organising a stay-away protest which shut down, towns and major cities across Zimbabwe.
He was later detained for inciting public violence but later freed.
Mawarire had been vocal about the discrimination suffered at the hands of former president Robert Mugabe and the Zanu-PF led government.
He continued his #ThisFlag campaign on social media, which has earned him a lot of local and international support and eventually refuge in the US where he was exiled.
My fellow citizens it is my absolute pleasure to inform you that I have been acquitted of all charges. Thank you for your prayers and support. Let’s joing hands in building a better Zimbabwe #ThisFlag pic.twitter.com/ohFsOfnstk
