Mozambique: Government to convert transporters’ subsidy into fund to buy buses

Minister of Transport and Communications Carlos Mesquita says the government will convert subsidies to transporters into a fund for the acquisition of buses for the public and private sectors.
Speaking on Friday at the Frelimo Congress in Matola, Mesquita said the idea was to address passenger transport problem through the provision of more buses, and that that the first hundred buses would arrive in Maputo in November.
