Nyusi refuses Congress offer of a tractor

The Maputo city delegation to the 11th Frelimo party congress currently underway in Matola has offered the party president a tractor and a cheque for two million meticais.
Filipe Nyusi thanked them, but returned the tractor keys.
“The value you represent to me is not going to persuade me to accept the tractor,” Nyusi said. The delegation itself would know better than he how best to put it to use. “The city of Maputo will know what to do with the tractor. There are plenty of farmers,” he concluded.
