‘Malawi, Mozambique border post strikes blow to bureaucracy, corruption’

The appreciation of the Euro against the US dollar has devalue the Mozambican currency by about one metical to the Euro in the last week.
In average terms, last week, the Euro was bought in the country for 72.58 meticais, one metical more than the average of the previous week.
In turn, the sale was made at 73.96 meticais for each Euro, 1.02 meticais more expensive in weekly averages calculated by Lusa from Bank of Mozambique figures.
Over the week, the average purchase price of the Euro varied between 72.21 and 73.13 meticals, while the asking price ranged between 73.62 and 74.44 meticais.
In the last week, the Mozambican currency stayed practically unchanged against the US with purchase averages at 60.82 and sale at 62 meticais.
