South African woman detained at Maputo Airport with 5 packages “of a substance suspected of being cocaine”

A woman of South African origin was detained on Sunday, as she had just landed at the Maputo International Airport, charged with possession of drugs.
Five packages of a substance suspected of being cocaine were found in her possession.
She said the packages were her property but did not say what kind of substance she was carrying.
The detainee returned from Brazil and had stopped in Luanda, the capital of Angola.
According to Orlando Mudumane, a spokesman for the PRM Command in Maputo, the drug bust was due to the joint work of the Police, National Criminal Investigation Services (SERNIC) and the Mozambican Customs.
