More than 580 Mozambican companies have already confirmed their participation in the 53rd edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM), which will take place from August 28 to September 3 in Marracuene, Maputo province.
Internationally, 26 countries, including Germany, Portugal and the United Kingdom, have expressed an interest in exhibiting their products at the fair.
The Director of FACIM 2017, José Jossias, told Radio Moçambique that the 2017 expo was expected to involve more than 3,000 companies, while coordinator Octávio Francisco said he believed the economic situation in the country might affect companies’ participation in the event.
Last year’s exhibition drew 2,250 Mozambican companies and 630 foreign companies from 33 countries.
FACIM is an annual trade fair and the largest international trade event in Mozambique, presenting itself as an opportunity to consolidate established presence and welcome new companies from all sectors of activity, especially aimed at providing a means of establishing contact with Mozambican clients.
This year the fair takes place under the slogan, “Strengthening National and Foreign Investment Partnerships in Mozambique”.
