Malian citizen arrested at Maputo airport with US$64,000 cash

A citizen of the Republic of Mali has just been detained at the International Airport of Maputo with 64,000 unreported U.S. dollar notes, the equivalent to about four million meticais, Notícias reports.
According to Paulo Nazaré, a spokesman for the Police of the Republic of Mozambique in Maputo, the man, who is currently being held by authorities, was about to board an Ethiopian Airways flight.
The origin and final destination of the money is now being investigated.
