Unrest blocks Mozambique’s South African border for a second day - Bloomberg
In File Club of Mozambique / 42-year-old Federica Mogherini was Italy's Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from 22 February 2014 until 31 October 2014 in the centre-left Cabinet of Matteo Renzi. She is a member of the Italian Democratic Party and the Party of European Socialists.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, is to visit Mozambique on the 24th and 25th of this month.
Mogherini will meet President Filipe Nyusi and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Oldemiro Baloi, as well as representatives of the main political parties, key economic actors and civil society.
The EU representative will have the opportunity to discuss the strong economic ties between Mozambique and the European Union, and the latter’s development policy.
Mogherini then goes on to South Africa, where she will meet South African Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. She has also scheduled a visit to Soweto and a panel discussion at Wits University in Johannesburg.
Both visits will serve to underline the strong relations between the European Union and the Southern African region.
