The National Meteorology Institute (INAM) is predicting bad weather in the southern part of the country – including Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces – with winds gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour and rough seas with waves between 3.5 and 5.0 metres in height.
Cooler weather is also expected, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius in Maputo and Gaza provinces.
Gusty winds will be felt in most of Maputo province and the extreme south of Gaza and Inhambane, most notably in the Bilene, Mandlakazi, Guijá, Chibuto, Zavala, Inharrime, Jangamo and Xai-Xai districts.
The INAM notes the need for precautionary safety measures relevant to the risks associated with gusty winds and rough seas.
