The CCS (Center for Collaboration in Health) is a non-governmental association with non-profit social purposes, with legal, patrimonial and administrative personality. The CCS was established in 2010 as a local partner of the Ministry of Health (MISAU) through the support of the International Center Aids Program (ICAP) and the USG. This organization emerges as part of the transition process of activities supported by PEPFAR (Emergency Plan of the President of the United States for AIDS Relief), in the implementation of HIV programs in Mozambique, from International NGOs to National NGOs and Department of Health (DPS). In May 2011, CCS began its activities by collaborating as a clinical partner in 23 Health Units of Maputo City covering the 7 urban and rural districts through a sub-agreement with ICAP. In the same year under direct funding the CDC expanded its collaboration to Inhambane Province into 35 Sanitary Units covering 10 districts in the central and southern regions of the province. Since May 2013 CCS support in the province of Inhambane has been extended to another 4 districts in the North region previously supported by Care international.
