King Mswati III of Swaziland is now free to participate in national, regional and international events as his two-month seclusion ended Saturday, APA reports.
The king was away from public eye for the duration of the Incwala Royal ceremony which starts by young men fetching a sacred shrub used to build the king’s private hive in which he stays.
Older warriors who are members of the regiment then go to Mozambique to fetch water from the Indian Ocean, which is used for certain rituals during the event.
There is also a main dance after which the king then goes into seclusion, leaving Prime Minister Barnabas Dlamini to represent him.
The King’s first national event, as announced by Royal Palaces Governor Timothy Mtetwa, will be the official opening of the third session of the 10th Parliament on February 12.
