Mozambique must coordinate fiscal and monetary policies – Central bank governor

The governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Ernesto Gove, believes that the coordination of fiscal and monetary policy is essential to maintain macroeconomic stability in the country, and is the fundamental basis of sectoral policies that promote and support increases in production, productivity and employment.

Speaking in Tete at the opening of the 40th session of the Central Bank Advisory Board, Gove said that the country needs to learn the lesson of the fall of international commodity prices and diversify its economy, taking advantage of opportunities in the agriculture, energy resource, tourism and infrastructure sectors.
