Mozambique: Governors, Provincial Assembly members sworn in

The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi will attend today and tomorrow tomorrow in Jakarta, Indonesia, the first ever Leaders’ Summit of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), which this year also celebrates its 20th anniversary .
During the Summit, the Mozambican Head of State will also participate as a keynote speaker at the Third Session of the IORA Business Forum, which will be held under the motto “Towards Sustainable and Equitable Growth in the Indian Ocean Rim”.
Still in Jakarta, the Mozambican statesman will hold a bilateral meeting with his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo.
During this visit, President Nyusi will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Balói; Of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Agostinho Mondlane; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mozambique to the Republic of Indonesia, Maria Gustava and other staff members of State institutions.
The 20th Anniversary of the Association of Indian Ocean Countries (IORA) will be held under the theme “Strengthening Maritime Cooperation for a Peaceful, Stable and Prosperous Indian Ocean.”.
IORA is a regional organization consisting of the coastal states bordering the Indian Ocean.
The organization consists of 21 member states and is based on the principle of open regionalism to strengthen economic cooperation, in particular to facilitate investment, promotion and social development in the region.
