Unknown persons have shot and killed the party secretary and the wife of the community leader of Funhalouro in Inhambane.
The 66-year-old community leader was seriously injured in the raid, Inhambane Provincial police spokesperson Juma Aly Dauto said, and efforts to capture the attackers are underway.
“The police have mobilised all their mechanisms and men in order to locate and arrest these individuals. We thought it was a quiet area without attacks, so it was surprising, and the police are now out in full force to protect the population and their property,” Dauto said.
