The lower house of the Brazillian parliament cancelled the donation of three Brazilian armed forces T-27 Tucano aircraft to Mozambique on Wednesday.
The planes had been donated by the government of former president Dilma Rousseff in 2013, with the objective of strengthening the good bilateral relationship with Mozambique, but a full sitting of MPs voted 271 in favour and 93 against to withdraw the project that dealt with the matter.
The aircraft were still in Brazil because they needed congressional approval to be sent abroad.
Last year, the current Brazilian head of state, Michel Temer, asked the deputies to cancel the agreement, saying that the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) had reassessed the issue and had given a negative assessment.
