The internal situation in Angola, especially in the economic and social domain, as well as the work to increase parliamentary cooperation with the Republic of Mozambique were at the centre of an audience granted on Wednesday in Maputo, by the Mozambican Head of State, Filipe Nyusi, to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
Speaking to the press, at the end of a 40-minute hearing, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos said that it was aimed at “providing information on the work that has been carried out with the counterparts of the Assembly of the Republic, aimed at the strengthening of cooperation, as well as the internal situation of the country “.
“As you know, we are all suffering from the effects of the international economic and financial crisis and we can drink from the experience of Mozambique as it is also going through this situation,” he said.
“We have received the information that Mozambique is taking very firm steps in agriculture and in the exploitation of its natural resources. This encourages us to continue our program of economic diversification. “We all learn from each other and today we have learn more,” he said.
Taking stock of the official visit he made to the Republic of Mozambique, in the framework of strengthening parliamentary cooperation, Fernando da Piedade said that it had been positive.
The President of the Angolan National Assembly was in Mozambique from Monday to Wednesday for a three-day official visit, having met with his counterpart, Verónica Macamo Mdlhovo, and with the heads of the parliamentary benches of Frelimo, Renamo and MDM , besides honouring the Mozambican heroes.
During a visit with a strong cultural mark due to the proximity and cultural bonds, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos was accompanied by members of parliament of Exalgina Gamboa, João Pinto and Clarice Kaputo, as well as other senior officials of the institution.
