Dead body raises suspicions of another shark attack victim in Inhambane

A dead body with signs of bites and the left leg missing has been found on Chicuque beach in the city of Maxixe in Inhambane Bay.

The unknown man is presumed to be the victim of another shark, sparking alarm in the local community.

The Community Fisheries Council in Maxixe believes that, given the nature of the injuries, the man, thought to be about 40 years old, can only have been attacked by a shark.

Timóteo Jeque, clinical director at the Rural Hospital of Chicuque, is waiting for any family member of the deceased to identify the body.

“I can confirm that a dead body has been brought to the hospital and is, as of now, in the morgue. The body was discovered on the beach of Chicuque,” Jeque said.
