Mozambique: Customs officer arrested for corruption in Beira
Globo / Geraldo Silverio's body was found in a public area of the condominium where he lived, located in the Presidente Costa e Silva neighbourhood.
Mozambican student Geraldo Monteiro Silvério, 28, who was studying for a master’s degree in plant science at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-arid Region (UFERSA), was found dead in a common area of the residential condominium where he lived in Mossoró city, state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, on Monday 14 November.
According to civil police investigating the case, the student’s body had a deep wound on the forehead and minor bruises on the body, as well as two small piercings on the buttocks. Blood marks were found at the site.
Possible causes of Geraldo’s death could only be enumerated after an autopsy, police said. The body was removed from the site at around 2:00 PM on Monday.
A native of Nampula province, Geraldo Silvério had lived in Mossoró for at least a year. He graduated in agronomy from the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in 2014, which then granted him a scholarship to Brazil.
The Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid issued a statement regretting the student’s death and presenting its condolences to the family.
