An alleged kidnapping mastermind recently extradited to Mozambique is already being examined by an investigating judge.
Danish Satar, aged 30, was detained by the Italian police about three years after leaving Mozambique when he was released on bail in May 2012 in a case presided over by judge Dinis Silica. The judge was killed in Maputo in May 2014 by a person or persons unknown.
Spokesperson for the PRM General Command Inácio Dina said yesterday that Satar, who arrived in Maputo on 31 December, is being examined by an investigating judge gathering evidence on the crimes of which he is accused and could be tried soon.
Dina said Satar was arrested and extradited to the country in the framework of cooperation between the Italian police and the PRM, without mentioning kidnappings specifically.
