President of the Republic prioritizes peace and reconciliation

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said that 2015 was a year in which Mozambicans witnessed momentous events and exhilarating challenges and called on everyone to work hard for a brighter 2016.

“As a nation, as a society and as citizens, we were protagonists and witnesses, in the year about to end, of momentous events and exhilarating challenges,” Nyusi said in his New-Year message.

The president stressed that Mozambique “with each challenge overcome, improved our preparation for a New Year in which, with hard work, all will be brighter”.

Nyusi expressed the hope that 2016 would be a year of peace, solidarity, harmony and progress.

“At this moment of celebration, the transition between one year and the next, we have good reason to hope for a 2016 of peace, solidarity, harmony and progress in Mozambique and throughout the world,” he said.
