The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts the continued occurrence of moderate to heavy rainfall, ranging between 30 and 50 millimetres within 24 hours, with localised amounts potentially exceeding 50 millimetres during the same period. The forecast also includes thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds, affecting various central regions of the country.
The highest risk areas are in Manica province, especially the districts of Machaze, Mossurize, Sussundenga, Macate, Manica, Bàrue, Vanduzi, Macossa, and the cities of Gondola and Chimoio.
In Sofala province, the alert covers the districts of Machanga, Chibabava, Buzi, Nhamatanda, and Gorongosa, as well as the cities of Dondo and Beira.
INAM recommends increased caution in these zones during the period of adverse weather conditions.
