Mozambique: Sugar exports see 50% rise, generating US$36 million in 2024

Farmers in Sofala report suffering losses in their fields due to the use of counterfeit or expired seeds.
The sale of such seeds is most prevalent in the districts of Marromeu, Cheringoma, Marínguè, and Chemba, where farmers’ markets are absent.
The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries is aware of the issue and is urging farmers to report sellers of unviable seeds.
