Twelve companies fined for illegal fishing in Cahora Bassa dam

A total of twelve fishing companies were fined for unauthorized fishing on the Cahora Bassa dam in Tete. The fines were levied over the last 10 months for irregularities of various kinds.
The Ministry of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries has said it will increase inspections and apply heavy fines as a means of curbing ongoing illegal fishing on the dam.
