Mozambique: One dead, eight injured in Zambézia accident; musician Big Chelton remains in intensive care

One person died and eight others sustained serious and minor injuries in a traffic accident that occurred on Saturday in Nicoadala district, Zambézia province.
According to Quelimane Central Hospital (HCQ), Mozambican musician Big Chelton — who was on his way to a performance — was among the injured and is currently in intensive care.
Chelton suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and remains hospitalized. His condition is described as critical, and his prognosis is guarded. The medical team says they are doing everything possible to save his life.
Palmira Nascimento, spokesperson for HCQ, told the press on Saturday that three other patients also remain hospitalized, while three were discharged after being treated for minor injuries.
