Mozambique: 11 dead and eight injured in Chongoene crash

Eleven people died and eight others were seriously injured in a traffic accident involving a truck and a semi-public passenger transport vehicle.
The accident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. this Monday in Maciene, Chongoene district, Gaza province.
The semi-public passenger transport was traveling from South Africa to Inhambane.
According to Gaza Provincial Hospital, 11 people died at the scene and six others were admitted to the emergency room. Two other injured people are in serious condition.
The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) says the accident was caused by excessive speed and a miscalculated overtaking manoeuvre by the truck driver.
