The CTA welcomed the Turkish Ambassador to Mozambique, Ferhat Alkan, to discuss aspects related to the Mozambican private sector’s participation in the Africa-Turkey Business Forum, which will take place on 16 and 17 October 2025 in Istanbul.
The participation of Mozambican companies in the Africa-Turkey Business Forum will be an opportunity to strengthen bilateral trade and strategic partnerships between Mozambican and Turkish businesspeople.
During the session, CTA President Álvaro Massingue highlighted the significant presence of Turkish companies in Mozambique, operating primarily in the trade, construction, energy, logistics, and services sectors.
This meeting follows the Mozambique-Turkey Business Forum held in Maputo in May of this year, which solidified the interest of both parties in deepening economic partnerships and exploring new areas of cooperation.
The Turkish ambassador, in turn, reported that negotiations were underway with the government to open a Mozambican embassy in that country, which will facilitate the issuance of business and work visas for Turkish entrepreneurs.
Turkey intends to increase trade with Mozambique through the import of products such as coal and gas. It believes that the manufacturing industry presents several opportunities for transforming local raw materials in the textile, energy, and construction sectors, among others.
The Africa-Turkey Business Forum promises to strengthen trade relations and open avenues for investments that benefit both countries, contributing to the economic and social development of Mozambique and Turkey.
The parties took the opportunity to reiterate their commitment to mobilizing Turkish companies to participate in the 20th Annual Private Sector Conference, which will take place between October and November in Maputo.
