Hotel Cardoso, with over 100 years of history in Mozambican hospitality, presented to the public this Tuesday a major investment in the renovation and modernization of six conference rooms, the bar and the gardens of this emblematic space in the heart of Maputo.
The information was shared this Tuesday by general manager Gonçalo Ferro at a press conference, where he highlighted the efforts of the management to improve the quality of the services provided.
The initiative is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Mozambique’s Independence, as a way of reaffirming the hotel’s role as a reference in the tourism and events sector in the country.
Ferro said that “the renovated rooms are equipped with the latest equipment to enhance corporate, personal and collective events. At this time, it is possible to access all the best technology available in Mozambique and in the world”.
The initiative aims to adapt the space to the challenges and demands of today, while preserving the charm and legacy that characterize the historic establishment.
Ferro expressed his delight at the investment and highlighted the important role that the Hotel Cardoso has played in national tourism, as well as a meeting point for business, culture, leisure and economic growth in Mozambique.
Regarding the future, Ferro noted that, with nearly 3,000 km of coastline, Mozambique has the potential for everything to go well in the next six months, possessing as it does a “fabulous landscape, immense natural wealth and welcoming people”.
The director-general of the Cardoso Hotel challenges the country’s tourism sector to make greater investments in infrastructure, technological tools and human resources, so as to attract travellers, whether for work or leisure.
“We have everything to succeed, however, work is needed, mainly in infrastructure to attract all the tourists who want to visit the country,” he stressed.
Gonçalo Ferro reiterated that the tourism sector in Mozambique will be competitive in relation to other countries, especially after improving infrastructures and training employees in hotel schools or training institutes.
Located at one of the highest points in the city, the Hotel Cardoso, with its breath-taking view over Maputo Bay and the Maputo-Katembe bridge, is to this day considered one of Maputo’s best calling cards.
