On June 19, 2025, the Local Content and Planning Department of CTA participated in the graduation ceremony of 20 local companies, within the framework of the Local Business and Supplier Development Program promoted by Sasol. This initiative represents a significant contribution to strengthening local content in Mozambique.
The Vice President of the Department, Keizer Osman, praised Sasol for the initiative and congratulated the graduating companies, highlighting that 35% of them are led by women — a clear sign of progress toward gender inclusion as a pillar of sustainable development.
Representing Sasol, Mateus Mosse reiterated the company’s commitment to local content, noting that they look forward to the upcoming Local Content Law, which they believe will provide a more robust legal framework to guide their activities in this area. He also highlighted the recent agreement signed with His Excellency, the Governor of Inhambane Province, Francisco Pagule, on May 30, 2025, worth USD 43 million to finance social projects and programs over the next five years.
CTA Vice President Carolina Albasini and MIREME’s Local Content Coordinator, Olga Guambe, were invited to the stage to present the certificates and congratulated the companies for their dedication throughout the four-month training provided by Sasol.
Adrian Frey, President of the Local Content and Planning Department, commented that the partnership between CTA and Sasol represents an excellent opportunity to transform Inhambane Province into a true industrial hub. According to him, this transformation will bring more opportunities for Mozambican companies, more jobs for youth, and increased capacity building for national professionals.
The ceremony concluded with a promising announcement: Mozambique will soon have its first specific Local Content Law. The new legislation also includes the creation of an Agency dedicated to implementing and monitoring the Law. This is an excellent opportunity for the Government and the Private Sector, represented by CTA, to jointly develop and operate this Agency.
And well done, Sasol.
