Mozambique: Assailants who burned trucks in Maringue still at large - AIM report | Watch
Screen grab: Miramar
The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in the city of Maputo yesterday arrested a woman approximately 30 years old on suspicion of human trafficking, namely for trying to sell her six-year-old daughter and the 27-year-old daughter of a friend to a South African citizen for 1.5 million meticais.
According to PRM spokesperson Marta Pereira, the arrest resulted from the exchange of messages and calls with her boyfriend, in which she asked if he knew any clients interested in human organs and informed them about the sale of the two victims to a foreigner, without knowing that he was a member of the police.
