The Ministry of Economy and the new board of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) met in Maputo yesterday (22-05) to define the main guidelines for the public-private dialogue.
The Minister of Economy, Basílio Muhate, expressed his willingness and availability to resolve the concerns that afflict the private sector, as well as the identification of key economic sectors, citing industry, commerce, services, agriculture, agro-processing and others as examples.
The availability was expressed during a meeting held between Muhate and the CTA’s new governing bodies, led by its recently elected president, Álvaro Massingue.
Within the scope of the Public-Private Dialogue (PPD), the Minister of Economy is the government’s focal point for private sector matters.
According to the vice-president of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), Onorio Manuel, the meeting with the government served to sow the seed.
“We already have the matrix identifying what the priorities are, what we are going to do as a new board and see what the best strategy is to address the problems,” Manuel said.
He stressed that the fact that the CTA has a new board does not mean that the old problems will be forgotten.
“The fact that there is a new board does not mean forgetting the old problems, what we are going to do and see what the best strategy is to address the problems,” he said.
