On 14 May 2025, the Ports and Railways of Mozambique company (CFM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Field Ready, with a view to promoting youth employability in Mozambique.
The agreement aims to open up pathways for young professionals to access internship opportunities at CFM and, as a result, be properly prepared to enter the job market.
The following executive directors signed on behalf of CFM: Selma Ferreira Dixon (Human Resources and Legal Affairs Department); Aboobacar Mussá (Engineering and Information Technology Department); and, on behalf of Field Ready, its Director for Mozambique, Gaspar Buque.
According to Sandra Dixon, “this partnership with Field Ready represents an opportunity for CFM to support young people and expand opportunities within the companies that are members of the Alliance”. This sentiment is shared by Field Ready, which is committed to expanding its alliance of companies committed to youth employability in Mozambique, and this partnership with a nationally renowned entity such as CFM is a decisive step in this direction.
In turn, Gaspar Buque stated that “Field Ready is committed to expanding its alliance of companies committed to youth employability in Mozambique, and this partnership with a nationally renowned entity such as CFM is a decisive step in this direction”.
Internships
The MoU provides for, among other initiatives, the provision of internship positions at CFM, allowing young people trained in various areas to gain practical experience, increase their visibility among employers and be included in future recruitment processes.
Both Field Ready and CFM expressed their conviction that this strategic partnership will have positive and lasting impacts on the professional careers of many young people and will contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of Mozambique.
