South32 reports production increases despite challenges at Mozal Aluminium in December quarter

Maputo, April 15, 2025: Central Térmica de Temane, S.A. (CTT), the developer of the 450 MW gas to power Project located at Temane, informs that is currently addressing a contractual matter involving its Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor, TSK.
CTT assures its partners, employees, stakeholders, and the public that CTT will take all the relevant steps to protect the integrity of the Project and CTT is actively working to manage the situation.
Project activities continue to be actively monitored by CTT’s internal teams and measures are being implemented to safeguard project timelines, secure critical works, and ensure that operations remain aligned with CTT’s quality, safety, and compliance standards.
CTT will provide further updates as appropriate.
Notes about Central Térmica de Temane (CTT)
The Temane Project (CTT), is a 450MW combined cycle gas-to-power plant being constructed in southern Mozambique, in the Inhassoro district. Electricity generated will be supplied to EDM for distribution on the national grid CTT’s shareholder structure is the result of a public-private partnership formed and led by Globeleq, EDM and Sasol.
This project is expected to contribute around 16% of the electricity supplied capacity and meeting the demand of more than 800,000 consumers, and is part of the Government’s focus under the Universal Energy Access Program.
