Mozambique: Idio Chichava wins Gulbenkian's SEDA Award alongside Dorothée Munyaneza

The Franco Mozambican Cultural Centre in Maputo will round off activities related to Women’s Rights Month with the multidisciplinary show “Só Elas “, by Tchakaze, on Friday, April 4th, at 8:00 p.m. in the Sala Grande.
Accompanied by a band made up exclusively of women, which gives its name to the project “Só Elas”, this show brings together artists from different artistic disciplines, such as music, poetry and dance, celebrating female empowerment and artistic expression.
Tchakaze, born in Maputo, is a multifaceted artist: singer, actress, composer, choreographer and social activist. She began her artistic career at the age of 17, quickly standing out on the music scene with her unique voice and stage presence. Since then, she has won over audiences with her style that mixes pop, soul and traditional music influences.
In the course of her 10-year career, Tchakaze has been awarded “New Artist” and “Best Voice” at Ngoma Moçambique, and “Best Song” by 99FM. She has released an album and several singles, and has performed at international festivals. She recently participated in the series “A Infiltrada”, playing the role of Janete.
