A team of military personnel from the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ), led by the Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Luís Barroso, is in Nampula to carry out a Site Survey (SISU).
This SISU aims to assess the capacity of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) infrastructure in the Military Administration Area – North to host a General Support Logistics Centre, in order to support the regeneration and projection of the Quick Reaction Forces in Cabo Delgado.
The Northern Military Administration Area has become a key strategic point, as it serves the Northern Theatre of Operations. So far, the Administration Area has been visited, which includes the Workshop Maintenance Centre and the Nampula Military Driving School, as well as the Nampula Central Hospital
The aim of the EUMAM Moz is to support the FADM in protecting the civilian population and restoring safety and security in the Cabo Delgado province by advising and mentoring FADM thus contributing to the stability and development of the region.
