Payment of the subsidy and thirteenth salary for the year 2024 in arrears to the support members of the District Election Commissions (CDE) may be made until the 18th of this month.
The information was given yesterday to “Notícias” by Fernando Zacarias, member of the Nhlamankulu District Commission, in the municipality of Maputo, who said he had obtained guarantees from the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) that this time nothing would fail.
He recalled that the payment will be made to the vice-presidents of the CDEs, members, directors, technicians and assistants of STAE on a national scale.
Thus, faced with delays and successive promises, the supporting members of the electoral bodies decided to initiate a series of demands, some of which were in front of the CNE and STAE facilities, throughout the country.
In the capital of São Paulo, the group had planned another action yesterday to claim the amount owed, which was later cancelled.
“We cancelled the claim because they promised us that they will pay our money by Tuesday. Therefore, we prefer to wait and see to what extent this commitment will be true. If they do not comply, we will react again,” he said.
According to Law No. 6/2013, of February 22, which establishes the functions of the bodies supporting the National Electoral Commission, in particular composition, organization, competence and functioning, these bodies must be paid their salaries in a timely manner.
It is worth highlighting that, among the main points requested, are the payment of the bonus for the month of January of this year, the thirteenth salary of last year, in addition to daily allowances for the 2023 electoral registration period and the 2024 census readjustment period.
