Feizal Sidat was elected member of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the 14th Extraordinary General Assembly, held yesterday in Cairo, Egypt. During the event, which elected the CAF president, members of the Executive Committee and CAF representatives on the FIFA Council for the 2025-2029 term, Sidat secured a prominent place in the decision-making bodies of continental football.
With 45 votes, the president of the Mozambican Football Federation became the first Mozambican since national independence to hold a high-level position on the CAF executive body.
The FMF noted in a press release that “this election represents not only recognition of Sidat’s work, but also an opportunity to boost the development of football in the COSAFA (Council of Southern African Football Associations) region. The presence of Feizal Sidat on the CAF Executive Committee could open new doors for Mozambican football, bringing greater visibility and opportunities for the country in international competitions and development programs for the sport.”
