Mozambique secures place at Afrobasket-2025

It is confirmed. The national women’s senior basketball team will be present at AfroBasket-2025, after being awarded an invitation from FIBA through a “wildcard”, which guarantees them a place in the competition, the most prestigious on the African continent in terms of the sport.
In addition to Mozambique, Egypt also benefited from the invitation to the race that will take place from July 25 to August 3 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Thus, the two countries join the teams already qualified, as well as Ivory Coast (host), Nigeria, current champion, Senegal, Mali, Rwanda, Cameroon, Uganda and Angola.
FIBA has also confirmed that two more wildcards will be announced in April to complete the 12-team field.
