Mozambique: Tropical system “HONDE” evolves into a category 2 cyclone – Update

In the last 24 hours, the tropical system “HONDE”, which is located in the extreme south of the Mozambique Channel, has evolved into a severe tropical storm, category 2, with a tendency to intensify in the next 24 hours.

According to projections from the National Institute of Meteorology, the storm will continue to move in a northwest-southeast direction, moving further and further away from the coast of Mozambique.

Despite this, INAM predicts the continuation of cyclonic winds of up to 110 km/h and gusts of 155 km/h, causing rough seas and waves up to 10 meters high, in addition to heavy rains accompanied by severe thunderstorms over the sea.
