The National Union of Journalists (SNJ) announced his death, which occurred early Wednesday morning due to illness.
Fenita began his journalism career in the 1960s in Nampula, working for publications such as Tribuna, Brado Africano, and Notícias. He played a significant role in mentoring and shaping new generations of journalists in Mozambique.
The SNJ’s executive secretariat, on behalf of its members and governing bodies, expressed deep condolences to his grieving family, friends, and colleagues, particularly those at Wamphula Fax, the first independent electronic newspaper in northern Mozambique.
