Mozambique Elections: Constitutional Council invites president of Podemos to meeting today

The president of the Constitutional Council, Lúcia Ribeiro, has invited the president of the Podemos party to a meeting at 3:00 p.m. today, December 11th, at the Constitutional Council headquarters in Maputo city.
The subject indicated in the invitation sent yesterday (December 10) and signed by Juizi Conselho Domingos Cintura, “legal substitute for the Presidency of the Constitutional Council”, is “the electoral process”.
The invitation fall “within the scope of the process of validating the results of the General, Presidential, Legislative and Provincial Assemblies Elections held on October 9, 2024.
The CC invitation also indicates that Forquilha “may be accompanied by up to four persons”.
Forquilha confirms attendance
The president of Podemos (Optimistic People’s Party for the Development of Mozambique), Albino Forquilha, confirmed in a statement this morning that he and four other party members would attend the meeting requested by the president of the Constitutional Council (CC), Lúcia Ribeiro, to be held this afternoon in Maputo.
According to the note, Forquilha will be accompanied by two Podemos staff and two representatives of presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane, who is supported by the party.
