Today, protesters once again blocked National Highway Number 4, which connects the cities of Maputo and Matola, leaving some people forced to walk to work in the early hours due to the lack of transport.
As the clock struck eight o’clock this Wednesday (04-12) morning, the N4 was once again the scene of protests. The road was completely blocked, the Matola toll booth deserted.
Protesters erected barricades and used everything they could to prevent vehicles from passing.
No passenger transport was circulating on the highway and, in addition to the protesters, the road was occupied by people trying to return home on foot.
