Mozambican refugees at Nyamithuthu Camp in Malawi's Nsanje receive humanitarian aid

Since 17 November 2024, newly displaced families have sought refuge in Ancuabe due to attacks by Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Nacuale, Nonia, Muela, Ungura, Mihengane, Mocone and Mahera communities.
As of 25 November 2024, an estimated 362 households, comprising 1,387 individuals—including 851 children, 265 women, and 271 men—displaced from these communities are in Nanjua A and 16 households, comprising 48 individuals are in Natove.
SDPI, along with IOM Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), has reported urgent humanitarian needs, including Non-Food Items (NFI), food assistance, psychosocial support, shelter, dignity and hygiene kits. Immediate action is required to address these critical needs and provide essential support to the affected populations.
