A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this Tuesday between the Mozambican Local Content Association (ACLM) and the Provincial Government of Cabo Delgado, marking a significant step in advancing the province’s socioeconomic development. The agreement underscores the commitment to promoting local content and fostering industrial expansion, with the Cabo Delgado Parks (CD Parks) initiative playing a central role in these efforts.
The CD Parks initiative, a joint project between the Government of Cabo Delgado and MozParks, is designed to accelerate economic growth and support the development of agro-industrial zones across key locations in the province, including Palma, Mocímboa da Praia, Pemba, Montepuez, Balama, and Ancuabe. This initiative aims to attract both national and international investments while enhancing the participation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in major industrial projects. By fostering the growth of local businesses and creating employment opportunities, CD Parks contributes to sustainable economic development and promotes a green economy.
The MoU strengthens collaboration between ACLM and the Provincial Government, reinforcing their shared objective of driving local content integration into Cabo Delgado’s industrial sectors. The agreement highlights the importance of creating opportunities for MSMEs, building a skilled workforce, and ensuring that the province’s natural and human resources are maximized for long-term growth.
“The signing of this agreement is a crucial step in ensuring that the people of Cabo Delgado benefit directly from the province’s industrial growth. By empowering local businesses and creating jobs we are building a more inclusive future for everyone,” said Nocif Magaia, Cabo Delgado Provincial Director for Industry and Trade.
Through this partnership, CD Parks will serve as a cornerstone in Cabo Delgado’s industrialization efforts, supporting local enterprises and contributing to the region’s broader development strategy as the province continues to strengthen its industrial base, driving forward a vision of inclusive and sustainable growth.
