Monologue Festival marks World Theatre Day for artists from Maputo neighbourhoods

Dance Week begins at Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre in Maputo today (Monday, 21-10), and will run until next Sunday.
According to the organisers, Dance Week aims to bring the best of contemporary dance to various venues in Maputo, including the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre, Casa Velha, Cine Teatro Scala and the Polana Caniço neighbourhood.
The event, organised by Iodine Produções, is a platform for national and international artists, promoting cultural exchange and the development of the arts in Mozambique.
“With its diverse program, Dance Week provides a unique opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in the most varied forms of artistic expression linked to dance,” reads the press release from the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre.
At the “Franco”, dance fans will be able to watch “Mpimiso” by Francisca Mirine at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium on Wednesday (23-10), and “Rituals of the Body”, by Pak Ndjamena in the Sala Grande at 7:00 p.m. on the same day.
On Friday (25-10), at 6:00 p.m., you can see “A Body Called Temple”, by Dinis Quilavei, in the Auditorium; and, at 7:00 p.m., “Dzuza”, by Ídio Chichava, in the Sala Grande.
